In Lehigh Valley, we all like to take a short bus ride from New York City to Philly in an hour.
We can reach big cities anytime and anywhere, but traditionally we have not solved the problems of big cities. We are not far from trails or creeks. We can easily buy food that grows in our local soil, because for decades, we have a vast space and abundant farmland.
We value this. According to a recent survey conducted by the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission, more than 95% of Lehigh Valley residents said that protecting and protecting our natural resources is a top priority for the next ten years.
We believe you have noticed: Thanks to our attractive location on some of the most important roads in the country, the e-commerce giants have discovered the treasures of our region.
Companies that set up shop here can reach 40% of the country’s population within a six-hour truck ride, and the land is still relatively cheap. In a world where we hope to deliver Amazon Prime orders five minutes ago, this makes Valley an extremely attractive location to open stores.
The prosperity of warehouses, distribution and fulfillment centers is creating a lot of jobs and changing the face of our communities.
On lehighvalleylive.com and The Express-Times, we are working on a series to explore what this means for Lehigh Valley. But we need your help to tell this story.
Have you found a new job in the fulfillment center? Does it take longer to work these days? Fill out our form below (or visit this link) and tell us all relevant information.
