Apparently, the goats inspired more than 40 volunteers from KB Home to go to Funky Chicken Rescue in Vacaville on Saturday and set up a fence for them.
The work was part of the KB Cares program and KB and their families were more than happy to spend a few hours setting up two wooden structures for the lovely goats to play in the hotel.
“At KB, we strive to focus on and give back to all of our communities,” said division president Oren Hershkovich. “It’s also great for our team.”
Preston said two other partners helped with this, noting that Timberworks and Erickson Framing provided assistance and donations.
Darcy Smith, who was with Funky Chicken, said her family is very happy with the help, which will house the 33 rescued goats.
“They help us with big projects (themselves) that will take us a lot of time,” she stressed. “It’s incredible. We’re just so grateful.”
Smith suggested that recent rescue efforts have unexpectedly swallowed up more goats, and with winter and rain approaching, stalls are badly needed.
