    1、 Large span steel structure, the application of steel structure to reduce the weight of the structure has obvious effect, at the same time, the application of steel structure in large-span buildings, often can better reflect and enhance the image of the building itself.The long-span structures of the buildings include aircraft hangar, airport, grain depot, logistics transfer center warehouse, railway station, conference hall, gymnasium, cinema, etc. these buildings are basically steel structures.The common structural systems are frame structure, arch structure, grid structure, suspension structure, suspension structure, prestressed steel structure, etc. 

    2、 In high-rise buildings, due to the large bearing capacity of steel members, when bearing the same load, the cross-section of components is smaller, which can make the building obtain more space.Therefore, more and more multi-storey, high-rise and super high-rise buildings such as business buildings, hotels and apartments are also using steel structures.The relevant data show that compared with concrete structure, the weight of steel structure with BH steel bearing can be reduced by 20% – 30%, and the service area can be increased by 5% – 8%.

    3、 High rise structures, including television tower, microwave tower, communication tower, transmission line tower, petrochemical tower, atmospheric monitoring tower, rocket launching tower, drilling tower, etc., many of them are steel structures. 

    4、 Plate shell steel structure requires airtight containers, such as large oil storage tanks, gas depots, furnace shells, etc., blast furnace structures that can bear large internal forces and have rapid changes in high temperature, and large diameter high-pressure oil pipelines are required to adopt steel shell steel structures, and sluice gates of some large-scale hydraulic engineering structures are also made of steel structures, such as Gezhouba and Three Gorges hydropower stations.

    5、 Steel structures and heavy production workshops, such as open hearth workshop, steel rolling workshop, smelting workshop, forging workshop of heavy machinery plant, hull assembly workshop of shipyard, assembly workshop of aircraft manufacturing plant, roof truss, column, crane beam and other bearing systems of heavy-duty plant are generally steel structure. 

    6、 Light steel structure is composed of light cold-formed thin-walled steel, light-duty welded high-frequency welded steel, thin steel plate, thin-walled steel pipe, light-weight hot-rolled section steel as the main load-bearing components, and a large number of single-layer or multi-storey buildings with light-weight enclosure and isolation materials.

    7、 Steel structure is widely used in bridge structure, especially for medium span cable-stayed bridge and suspension bridge, such as Nanpu Bridge, Yangpu Bridge and Xupu Bridge in Shanghai, Jiangyin Bridge and Sutong Bridge in Jiangsu Province, and double-layer Jiujiang Bridge for railway.
